If it is successful, it will join GR-branded Corollas, 86 and Supra.
A Japanese report claims that Toyota intends to launch a performance model of the all new Prius under the GRMN label. Japan’s Best car10 accurately predicted the existence and fate of the GR Corolla a few decades ago. According to Japan, the performance-oriented Prius is a GRMN model. GRMN models are positioned above GR models like the 86 or Supra in the performance realm. A GRMN Supra is also rumored to be in the works.
Reportedly, the Prius GRMN will receive an enhanced unibody featuring additional spot welds and industrial adhesives to stiffen the chassis further. The fifth-generation Prius uses the same GA-C chassis design as the GR Corolla.

What remains unknown is which version of the new Prius the GRMN variant will be based on: the standard hybrid or the plug-in hybrid. According to the report, it will be the Prius Prime.
Toyota claims it can go from 0-60 mph within 6.6 seconds. Although it’s not a hot rod, this is a Prius. Gazoo Racing may not be able to add a turbo to this powertrain, but that shouldn’t stop them from trying. The Crown hybrid is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-pot, after all.
